The journey
Vietnam's islands run from the resort beaches of Phú Quốc to the wild turtle-nesting coves of Côn Đảo and the limestone bays around Cát Bà — each reached only by flight or ferry, each its own world.
The route
Long west-coast beaches, sunsets and the night market.
Wild diving, historic prisons and nesting sea turtles.
Lan Hạ Bay kayaking and the national-park trails.
Volcanic garlic island off the Quảng Ngãi coast.

Plan the crossings
Islands don't connect to each other — most need a flight or ferry from the mainland. Build the route around schedules.
Ferries cancel in rough seas
Côn Đảo and Lý Sơn ferries stop in bad weather. Keep a buffer day, and fly to Côn Đảo if you can.
Turtle season is summer
Côn Đảo's sea turtles nest roughly Jun–Sep; ranger-led night watches must be booked through the national park.
