The trekking and bathing journey at Giang Tien waterfall in the old forest of Binh Dinh will take visitors to a wild and peaceful land.
At the end of May, when the heat was intense, Mr. Tran Van Be (born in 1991) and a group of 5 friends went trekking and bathing in a waterfall in an old forest located in An Quang commune, An Lao mountainous district, about 110 km from Quy Nhon city.
Mr. Be shared: "To avoid the hot summer days, we went to Mother Nature to cleanse our bodies and minds. This trip took us to Giang Tien waterfall, located in An Hau village, An Quang commune, H're ethnic group".
If starting from Xuan Phong Nam market, An Hoa commune, visitors will have to travel a distance of 15 km on the pass by motorbike, then stop at the foot of the Heaven Gate in An Hau - where the earth and sky meet through the clouds. After parking here, people continue their journey by walking about 3.5 km through the terraced fields of the H're people, where it is the season of sowing rice with fresh green color. The walking distance is not too long, and during that distance, visitors will admire the small, neat wooden houses located among the terraced fields. This is an ideal place to rest and drink water after hard working days.
Small winding trails between mountains, along the banks of cool, clear streams, lead visitors to Giang Tien waterfall with its majestic and charming beauty.
The height of the waterfall will certainly surprise everyone, estimated at about 40 meters, stretching from the top of the mountain to the foot of the waterfall, softly curving like a white silk strip lying in the middle of the immense green of the old forest. The special thing is that at the foot of the waterfall there is an ancient tree standing alone, firmly among the giant rocks, facing the waterfall. The ancient tree is not only a stop for those who want to take pictures, but the H're people also made a swing from sturdy forest vines for people to sit and rest.
After some exciting moments of experiencing the cool water, playing and bathing in the waterfall, Mr. Be's group decided to camp and cook. That afternoon, they sat on the rocks at the foot of the waterfall, enjoying grilled meat in the middle of the forest and listening to the constant sound of the waterfall.
"Our dinner included grilled pork belly, grilled chicken, bamboo rice, mackerel soup with wild vegetables and sim wine. Under the moonlight of the 12th lunar month, Giang Tien waterfall still appeared with its soft curves in the dark night. Experiencing the feeling of the night in the old forest, the sounds of insects and frogs echoed, mixed with the sound of the waterfall, creating an endless harmony," Mr. Be shared.
If you are a local in Binh Dinh, you can join the day trip. However, to fully experience the An Lao mountains and forests, you should camp overnight to enjoy the wild flavor of the forest and bathe in the waterfall all afternoon and the next morning.
The next day, Bé’s group woke up early, had breakfast and enjoyed a bath in the stream. Afterwards, they cleaned up the camp and ensured the environment was clean, making sure the trash was collected and nature returned to its original state before they left the mountains.
