With a trip lasting from 2 to 3 days, visitors can participate in trekking activities on routes such as Ta Nang - Phan Dung, the newly emerging Ta Giang route or climbing Chua Chan mountain.
Trekking is an outdoor tourism activity that helps visitors relax after stressful working days. If you like hiking, climbing and exploring trails with diverse terrains, and want to enjoy being immersed in nature, below are some popular trekking routes in the South, suitable for the year-end holiday.
The Ta Nang - Phan Dung route is more than 50 km long, located in three provinces of Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan, and is a "national" destination for trekking lovers in the South. In this season, the route is dry and convenient for traveling. Along the way, you will admire the beautiful golden grass fields. In particular, experience camping on a high hilltop, waking up early to welcome the sunrise amidst the majestic mountain scenery.
To save travel time, you can travel from Ho Chi Minh City by overnight bus and arrive at the starting point in Duc Trong district, Lam Dong in the morning. The trekking journey on this route takes about 2 days and 1 night and ends in Phan Dung commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province.
Ta Giang is an emerging destination in the past two years in Khanh Son district, Khanh Hoa, attracting trekking enthusiasts from the South. The route starts from Thanh Son commune, Khanh Son district and ends at Son Thai commune, Khanh Vinh district, is about 22 km long and takes 2 days and 1 night to complete.
Ta Giang Village is located near Phuoc Binh National Park and Hon Ba Nature Reserve, so the natural beauty of this place still retains its wildness and grandeur. On the way, visitors will pass through green fields, lush forests and streams running through flat rock surfaces, without too much slope, making it a suitable choice for beginners to trek.
Chua Chan Mountain is an attractive destination for mountaineering enthusiasts in the South after the period of social distancing. Chua Chan Mountain is about 110 km from Ho Chi Minh City, visitors can take a one-day trip or camp overnight, wake up to greet the dawn and enjoy the outdoor life on the mountain top.
Usually, tourists will form small groups when climbing Chua Chan mountain, bring tents, prepare food and water... to support each other throughout the journey. The mountain climbing route can be full of difficulties with climbing levels and large rock cavities up to 5 m high, dense forests, requiring explorers to have experience.
With a height of 837 m, Chua Chan mountain is the highest mountain in Dong Nai and the second highest in the Southeast, after Ba Den mountain (986 m, Tay Ninh).
