The Green Forests of Vietnam
Dec 25, 2024 · 3 min read
The 4-day Ba Cave deep forest exploration tour is attracting a large number of foreign tourists after Vietnam announced the opening of tourism. The tour offers a completely different experience compared to the cave exploration tours currently operating in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
The Hang Ba Deep Forest Expedition takes visitors through almost the entire route under the canopy of the primeval forest of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. Visitors can explore the habitat of many rare and endemic wildlife species that are protected in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. The National Park covers an area of 123,000 hectares and is ranked by UNESCO as a world natural heritage site with three criteria: geology, geomorphology (2003); ecosystem and biodiversity (2015).
Visitors will be equipped with wildlife recording devices, giving them the opportunity to see animals in real life through photo and video data from camera traps. Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park records 3,000 plant species and 1,400 animal species. Mr. Howard Limbert, Director of Technical and Safety, said this is a special tour. "What we want on this tour is conservation," Mr. Howard said.
The discovery tour is organized based on the diverse primeval forests of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park. There are many large ancient trees along the way, between the valleys, the forests are still very pristine and have little impact by humans.
The tour lasts 4 days and 3 nights, requiring visitors to have good physical strength and experience in trekking. Throughout the tour, visitors will experience many terrains such as crossing rivers and streams, climbing rocky hills, climbing steep slopes and standing, using specialized technical equipment. In addition to trekking in the old forest, visitors can visit many caves such as Dai Cao, Me Cung, Ba, Sang...
Phong Nha - Ke Bang is a limestone geological area, making the water in the caves an attractive emerald green color. Visitors can experience swimming in a dark cave with only a head torch to feel the difference.
Me Cung Cave - 1 stop on the journey is a beautiful cave with massive stalactites. Here, on sunny days, visitors can see the bright sunlight shining from outside deep into Me Cung Cave, creating a beautiful scene.
Hang Ba has three cave entrances and a beautiful emerald green underground river. The spectacular scenery of Hang Ba will be a place for tourists to freely take pictures.
Visitors will kayak to reach Vinh Dai Cave, amidst the majestic limestone mountains and primeval forests. At night, it is time to experience the night sky with thousands of twinkling stars and the endless Milky Way by Vinh Tron Lake - a place completely free of artificial light.
Organizing tours in this area also helps to limit the local people from hunting animals or illegally cutting down forests. Each tour has only 6 tourists, to ensure the forest "rests and has time to recover". The tour service team also undergoes a thorough training course to minimize unnecessary activities and avoid making noise while moving, working and living.
