Son Nu Cave is more than 1.5 km deep with many large stalactites that were recently discovered by people in Truong Son commune, Quang Ninh district in Diu Do village, sub-region 549. The cave is located in the core of the primeval forest with many giant stalactites and clear underground water flowing through the rapids.
Mr. Hoang Trong Duc, Chairman of Truong Son Commune, said that Son Nu Cave is located in the primeval forest of the West Truong Son area and was discovered by forest rangers. Visitors who want to reach Son Nu Cave must walk nearly 2 km along the stream. Then, when entering the cave, visitors will have to bring a SUP (stand-up paddle boat), flashlight, and life jacket to cross many rapids inside the cave before reaching the area with stalactites. Although the underground water in the cave is clear, it is very dangerous when it rains heavily, so visitors need to be extremely careful.
In Son Nu cave, there are many large stalactites. Stalactites or stalagmites in the cave are formed from water droplets that have accumulated over hundreds, even thousands of years. They are also the stopping place, check-in place for tourists to keep memories. The cave is also considered very suitable for developing adventure tourism. Tourists will certainly be amazed by the beauty of the stalactites inside the cave. In particular, the stalactites deep inside the cave will be a great gift for tourists after overcoming many rapids and underground water.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Quy, Director of the Quang Binh Province Department of Tourism, said that the discovery of the new cave is good news for the local tourism industry. "The Department of Tourism will coordinate with Quang Ninh District to survey and develop a tourism exploitation plan, but first and foremost, we must ensure the safety of tourists," Mr. Quy said.
