Na Hang - Lam Binh Nature Reserve has a protected area of over 40,000 hectares, located in 14 communes and towns in Na Hang and Lam Binh districts, Tuyen Quang province, Vietnam and is located among primeval forests along the banks of Gam and Nang rivers, with a diverse ecosystem with many rare species of flora and fauna, and a unique and fascinating cave system.
Na Hang in the Tay ethnic language means “the last field” where there are green rice fields interspersed with limestone mountains. The primeval forests, especially the lakes on the mountains, create a charming landscape. Na Hang has all the elements to create a national-level eco-tourism complex, which can develop various types of folk cultural tourism, eco-tourism, adventure tourism, and tourism of Tuyen Quang hydroelectric lake.
Coming to Na Hang, visitors can explore Tuyen Quang hydroelectric lake, formerly known as Na Hang hydroelectric lake. Located on the Gam River, in Na Hang town, the hydroelectric lake is as beautiful as a watercolor painting that nature has bestowed in the middle of the vast mountains. Coming here, visitors can admire the diverse ecosystem with many rare flora and fauna (more than 40 species of animals, 70 species of birds, many species of reptiles, rare plants). In particular, visitors cannot miss the experience of cruising on the vast Na Hang lake to immerse themselves in the immense nature of rivers and water interspersed with mountains and forests. Standing on the side of the boat, looking far away, each visitor feels so small in the middle of the natural mountains and forests of Na Hang.
On the journey along the river, visitors will hear about the legends associated with each place, visit Coc Vai Pha standing out among the clear blue water, visit Pac Ban waterfall (Mo waterfall) with its poetic and magical beauty, associated with the legend of the lake that has been ranked as a national scenic spot. Along the journey of discovery on the cruise, visitors will admire the Tat Ke - Ban Bung Nature Reserve with its extremely rich ecosystem, visit majestic waterfalls such as Khuay Sung, Khuay Nhi, Khuay Me, visit Phia Vai cave where traces of ancient Vietnamese people are still preserved..., and visit the primeval forests with thousand-year-old nghien trees, with the snub-nosed monkey species listed in the world's Red Book.
In particular, on the boat, looking far away, visitors can also admire the majesty of Pac Ta mountain with the shape of an elephant standing next to a jar of wine, admire Xa Ta mountain (also known as Con Lon mountain), visitors can visit and burn incense at the sacred Pac Ta temple, visitors can not only learn about the painful legend, burn incense to worship the wife of General Tran Nhat Duat. Coming here, visitors can admire the entire lake landscape along with the simple, rustic lifestyle of the people here.
On the journey to explore Na Hang ecological lake, visitors cannot miss the destination of Khuoi Nhi waterfall in Thuong Lam commune, Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang. Visitors can immerse themselves in the Khuoi Nhi waterfall flowing in the cool wilderness, sit and relax their feet in the clear water, and have their feet massaged for free by schools of unique stream fish.
From the cruise, visitors climb up the mountain slope a few hundred steps, following a small path, surrounded by many shady trees, visitors will be immersed in the space of the waterfall. Khuoi Nhi waterfall is about 3 km long, 3 floors high, from afar visitors can see white water, pouring down from the mountain. Along the way up to the waterfall, there are sections where butterflies fly in flocks, creating a very poetic scene. The path leading up to the waterfall is not a road at all, there is no long path, no steps, only indentations carved into the rocks, into the ground along the way up to find the right place to put the feet of pedestrians. The path up has many steep places, rocks with water flowing through, many small streams, puddles of water in the crevices of rocks, visitors just need to stop to rest, sit by the puddle or sit at the foot of the waterfall, visitors put their feet down for only about a minute, the fish swim back, competing to peck. The fish here are quite tame, if you lightly wave your foot they will scatter, but in less than a minute, the whole school returns, chirping and rushing at the tourists' feet.
The fish here live completely naturally, not raised, not cared for, not released, and they do not go anywhere, just hanging around the waterfall. Many tourists were amazed and delighted because in other places that provide fish massage services, the fish are usually released in tanks and the guests sit on chairs with their feet in the tanks. But here, in the space of wild nature, the school of fish naturally sits on large, smooth rocks, under the canopy of ancient forest trees, giving visitors a refreshing and impressive feeling.
Coming to Na Hang, in addition to exploring "Ha Long Bay on the mountain", you can experience foot massage with stream fish. Another interesting thing is that on the journey to visit Na Hang ecological lake, visitors also have the opportunity to learn about a cultural area with 12 ethnic groups living together, creating a treasure trove of cultural identity, a rich and unique folk music area through Then, Sli, Hat Luon melodies... combined with the sounds of Tinh lutes and Khen that captivate people's hearts. During the journey of discovery, visitors have the opportunity to enjoy the unique and famous cuisine of Tuyen Quang such as: Sticky rice cake with ant eggs, black pork, Soi Lam sticky corn, goby salad, fish sauce...
